Text Messaging (SMS) Terms

If you provide your mobile phone number to MCI and opt in through a Site form or another channel, you may receive text messages from us as described below

9.1 Program Description. MCI's text messaging program is used to communicate with prospective students, current students, and members of the public who request information about our programs, admissions process, and related services. Messages may include:

Transactional messages — form/inquiry confirmations, appointment and tour reminders, enrollment status and application updates, class start reminders, and financial aid or scholarship follow-ups.

Marketing and promotional messages — enrollment period announcements, program and scholarship offerings, events and campus tours, and general informational content about MCI.

Consent to receive transactional messages and consent to receive marketing messages are collected separately wherever both are offered. Consent to either is not a condition of enrolling in a program or purchasing any service from MCI.

9.2 Opt-In. You may be enrolled in this program by submitting a form on the Site (such as "Request More Information" or "Ask About Enrollment") and checking the applicable consent box(es), or by otherwise providing your mobile number and affirmatively agreeing, verbally or in writing, to receive text messages from MCI. By opting in, you confirm you are the owner or authorized user of the number provided.

9.3 Message Frequency. Message frequency varies based on your interactions with MCI and where you are in the admissions process.

9.4 Message and Data Rates. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. MCI does not charge for messages sent through this program.

9.5 Opt-Out. Reply STOP to any text message from MCI to cancel. You will receive a one-time confirmation that you have been unsubscribed. To opt back in, submit a new inquiry form or contact us directly. Opting out of one message type (transactional or marketing) does not automatically opt you out of the other if you consented to both — reply STOP separately if needed.

9.6 Help. Reply HELP to any text message for assistance, or contact us directly using the information in Section 12 below.

9.7 Carrier Liability. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Coverage and reliability may vary by carrier and are not guaranteed.

9.8 Privacy. Mobile opt-in information and consent are not shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes. See Section 10 below.

Privacy

Your use of the Site and any information you submit through it, including in connection with our text messaging program, are also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Hidalgo County, Texas.
